The kookaburra has been a marker of Australian identity for as long as there have been Australians to claim one. Long before it appeared on flags and crests, it was simply part of the landscape — the loudest thing in the bush, and the most recognisable. By the mid-20th century, the bird had found its way onto the chest badges of sporting clubs, country associations, and the kind of organisations that took pride in where they came from. The emblem shirt — plain in body, marked only by a small badge over the heart — became a quiet statement of belonging.
The Chapman Kooka carries that tradition in miniature. A small kookaburra mark sits on the left chest — restrained enough to read as detail rather than statement, present enough to give the shirt its character. The fawn ground is the right colour for it: warm, unhurried, the shade of dry grass and pale timber. Everything else steps back and lets the badge do its work.
Made from 180gsm organic cotton single jersey — a weight that drapes well and breathes easily through the warmer months.
